Montmantre;
this place feels like a magical little village. It sits on the hills of Paris overlooking the rest of the city. I present this area of Paris by sharing photos I took of Montmantre on two different occasions, one at the beginning of my time in Paris and one at the end. Both days I spent alone exploring the sweet charms of what feels like a little suburbia in the midst of it all. The first set a photos depict the quaint area on a beautiful December day. The painter’s square is enclosed by restaurants with extravagant ornaments adorning their awnings and the smell of hot chocolate is in the air. The second set of photos I took at the beginning of October, when it was still warm in Paris, and the leaves were beginning to fall. I explored the street of Le Maison Rose and journaled in a hidden park where a young girl was having her karate lesson. This was also a beautiful time to be in Montmantre but, when is it not? When you are atop these hills it feels like a sort of removal from the world around you, a bliss.
